All you have to do is lift it up and pull it out to deposit the spent briquettes into the trash bin. It is a good idea to keep the grate as clean and free of debris as possible. This means you will want to have a spray nozzle and a wire brush to use when cleaning your grate. This ensures that debris doesn't build up and block airflow the next time you use the charcoal grid.
